Doctor's Surgery 2006, Kerry
Improved and expanded facilities were required for this doctor's surgery attached to a family home. A new face to the surgery in the form of a deep wall was created, signalling the entrance from the street and providing a sheltered area into which the office administrator's window is set. A new reception room, lined in full height storage, leads directly into the waiting room, this threshold marked by a new rooflight. High-level clerestory glazing and a large window facing onto the existing boundary hedgerow provide adequate daylighting to the waiting room while acknowledging the importance of privacy in this space.
